Standards > Feelings

Feelings are weather. Standards are climate.

Feelings change by the hour. Tired. Motivated. Sore. Distracted. Fired up. Numb. If you wait to feel like it, you’ll wait your whole life.

Standards don’t ask how you feel. They just ask: did you do the thing.

This is the line that separates the men who win small, boring, unglamorous victories every day from the ones stuck waiting for inspiration that never shows up on schedule.

It’s not complicated. It was never supposed to be.

Eat simple. Real food, on repeat. Show up to the gym or get the walk in, whether or not you feel like a warrior that day. Drink the water. Take the vitamins. Nothing exotic. Nothing that needs motivation — just execution.

Don’t leave things hanging either. Half-finished tasks pile up like debt. They sit in the back of your mind and quietly drain you. Close the loop. Finish what you started, even the small stuff. Especially the small stuff.

And when you miss — because you will miss — don’t spiral. Don’t let one bad night’s sleep or one skipped workout turn into a week. Just get 1% better tomorrow. That’s the whole recovery plan. Not perfect. Better.

Standards hold when feelings don’t. That’s the whole point of having them.

The story is in black and white, but the lesson is always in color.
