Glen & Rose: A Story Rooted in a Texas Town
Glen Rose, Texas is one of those places that doesn’t need much explaining once you’ve been there.
Sitting along the Paluxy River, it’s known for its dinosaur tracks, its history, and a downtown that still feels like it belongs to the people who live there. Small hills, open skies, and a landscape that hasn’t been overrun by big city growth.
The name itself comes from two parts—“Glen,” referring to the natural valley, and “Rose,” connected to early settler Elizabeth Rose. Around 1875, Glen Rose became the county seat of Somervell County, but the story of the land goes much further back.
That history is what inspired this book.
Meet Glen & Rose
Glen & Rose: Discover the Tracks introduces two dinosaurs who move through the town, connecting its past to the present.
The story is built around real elements of Glen Rose—its landmarks, its setting, and the character of the town itself. It’s a way to bring history and place into something simple and engaging for kids, while still being grounded in something real.
